LIVE ONLINE CLASSES-LIFT WITH LAURA

For experienced folks who want to get something done at home or on their own at the gym.

Lift with Laura are resistance and mobility training workouts you can do with me or watch the recording via Zoom. This program is designed for you to build strength safely and functionally. I will always offer options and variations.

One thing I don’t love about many group fitness classes is that they get you sweaty and tired. Still, you’re not doing “progressive overload,” or when you gradually increase the weight, frequency, or number of repetitions in your strength training routine. This challenges your body and strengthens your musculoskeletal system (if that is your goal. You can also perform these workouts weekly and stick with what is comfortable)!

These sessions can be paired with your favorite boot camp, spin, yoga, or whatever else you enjoy.

With most HIIT workouts, always performing strength exercises for fast timed periods means you may at some point plateau (or potentially get injured) because you’re not able to SLOW DOWN and get into your body, which can also really short-change your end range of motion on a particular exercise and not allow for any re-patterning in movement.

“Laura provides great content and makes me think more about the choices I make, whether it be exercising, the food I am eating, or focusing on my body confidence. Her coaching style is more encouraging and positive and not at all ‘drill sergeant’. I am more aware of my thoughts and how to change my mindset to be better physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I sprained my ankle in the winter of 2021 and between Laura and my chiropractor, I actually never stopped working out. We adjusted the exercises while I wore a brace and healed. I think in the past, I would not have done as much movement and I am convinced that continuing to resistance training in a way that felt safe with my injury helped me regain strength faster.

This is way more than a workout.” -
Karen Kuhlman, current LWL client since 2020

Lift with Laura is limited to 10 people per workout to let me assess proper form and coach and is on a 3-4 month periodization block. Periodization training deliberately manipulates training variables to optimize performance, prevent overtraining, and progress performance. Variable adjustments in duration, load, or volume are planned over a specific period to achieve these objectives.

*New training block starts January 31, 2024
Wednesdays & Fridays at 6:45 am EST
*

(Please note, there are a few Monday make-up classes).

This program block is designed for beginners to intermediates with lifting/some quick cardio tempo and no significant injuries.

Suggested equipment is usually a light and heavy set of weights, long and short bands, a mat, and a TRX or pull-up bar (no worries if you don’t have this; we can use a long band over a door).

This next block of workouts will be a combination of mobility, strength, yoga flow, and HIIT conditioning (I can tell you ahead of time so you can plan out your other activities, as that is how I schedule my workouts).

Suppose you are returning to exercise (less than six months of consistent training). In that case, I recommend my 1:1 program Vitality to start so we can get you to a place where you know how to navigate classes like this better after you have mastered the fundamentals.
